The Blackbelt Benefit Group presented a $10,000 check to Carrie Bearden of Cahaba Mental Health at Art Jam last week at the Walton Theater.

Blackbelt Benefit Group President Josh Wilkerson said the presentation was made possible because of the support at the Alabama River Chili Cookoff fundraiser.

“Mental health is cause that is close to our hearts and we are honored to be able to contribute to the important work of the Cahaba Center,” Wilkerson said. “We believe that everyone deserves access to quality mental health care. We are grateful for the opportunity to support this important mission.”

Bearden said she’s grateful getting support from the Blackbelt Benefit Group.

“It feels great to receive a check from the Blackbelt Benefit Group,” Bearden said. “We appreciate their support and we volunteer at the Chili Cookoff. We appreciate people helping us with mental health.”

Wilkerson said that he was grateful to have Ben Brooks of Selma and Mike Cooley perform at Art Jam.

“We were fortunate to have two talented performers at the Art Jam event,” Wilkerson said. “Mike Cooley served as the headliner and Ben Brooks was a special guest to Mike Cooley. Both artists put on an incredible show and helped make the event a success.”
