The Selma Artist Guild hosted their annual Christmas open house on Sunday to promote and sell art made by local artists in Selma.

The art in the gallery ranged from hand drawings, paintings, and photography that were on sale to the public.

“ This open house is giving people an opportunity to buy local art and a lot of it is original,” Acting SAG president Cam Guarino said. “This is a great way for people to have one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts.”

The money from the art that was sold went directly to the artists, along with a commission fee taken out.

People who attended the open house were also welcomed by food and some refreshments while they looked around the open house.

The Selma Art Guild Gallery will be open on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. or by appointment through Dec.17.

People will still have time to purchase local artworks for Christmas. For appointments, call 334-467-1816.

Guarino said there are plans for more galleries coming up starting early next year as soon as February.
