The giveaway aims to improve the area by planting trees that stop flooding as well as provide shade and habitat for wildlife floral and fall colors.

The Cemetery Preservation Group is hosting the Tree Giveaway.

Alabama Urban Forestry Association, Alabama Forestry Commission, Alabama Cooperative Extension System and Cemetery Preservation Group, Inc. are partnering with the IP and Arbor Day Foundation for the tree giveaway.

CPG Director Doug Buster said he’s grateful to the City of Valley Grande for allowing them to use the property for the tree giveaway.

“Thank you to the City of Valley Grande for allowing us to use the pavilion and parking lot at the Valley Grande Walking Trail Park and to the many individuals who have worked behind the scenes to make this Tree Giveaway possible,” Buster said.
