Selma AWF Wild Game Cook Off had best-ever attendance

The Peppertree Pit Crew won two awards at the annual Selma Alabama  Wildlife Federation Wild Game Cook Off last week at ArtsRevive.

AWF second vice president Tim Wood was pleased with the turnout. Wood said that over 800 attended the event, which is the most ever to attend the Wild Game Cook Off. Wood said over 600 attended last year.

“It was the largest we’ve ever had,” Wood said. “We had 13 teams competing.”

Peppertree Pit Crew won best overall for its Creamy Wild Mushroom and Quail Pasta. The Montgomery-based team of Jeff Verner, Drew bass, Hayden Verner and Brian Forester also took first place in the Fowl Category for the same dish.
