The Keith High volleyball team punched its ticket to the Class 1A Super Regional.

The Lady Bears finished as the Region 6, Class 1A runner-up, falling to University Charter in the  tournament finals this week.

Ja’Kayla Moore,  Leah Kimbrough, A’niyah Richardson, Jacqueria Terrell, Shania Moore, Ta’Nia, A’yanna Smith and Jeashanda Black are the Lady Bears.

Credit Keith’s success to head coach Towanna Johnson-Flennory, who did a similar rebuilding job with the Lady Bears’ softball program.  She’s been named The Selma Times-Journal softball coach of the year the last two seasons.

We applaud the hard work and dedication of what Johnson-Flennory has done with both programs, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic and inflation in our lives.

We also commend the Lady Bears for listening and believing in their coach. These lessons will help them as adults someday.
