Kent Jenkins died on September 8, 2022, in Montgomery.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Michael Jenkins IV and her parents Mary Elizabeth Rogan and Joseph Thompson Callaway. Kent is survived by her daughters Margaret Kent Noltes (Willem) of St. Simon’s, GA and Peyton Reid Thompson (Tommy) of Savannah, GA and her brother Chris Callaway and sister Liz Callaway Pauley. She is also survived by her step-children Mike and Carolyn Jenkins.

Her grandchildren are Nicholas, Margo and Emmie Noltes, Thomas and Rogan Thompson and her step-grandchildren are Anne Mallory and Hayes Jenkins, Cooper and Rivers Hall and Wynn and Blue Dennard.

Kent was a native of Selma, AL where she was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She graduated from The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, NY and Mount Vernon College in Wash-ington DC.

After her marriage to Mike Jenkins in 1980, Kent made Montgomery her new home and became involved in many areas of the community by serv-ing on the boards of the Montgomery Humane Society and Hospice of Montgomery.  She was an active participant in supporting the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, Montgomery Council on Aging and other philanthropic causes.  At St. John’s Episcopal Church, she and Mike became involved with the Cursillo program and many other church related activities.

A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Epis-copal Church at  3 p.m.Monday, September 12   officiated by the Reverend Duncan Johnston.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church, 113 Madison Avenue, Montgomery AL 36104 or to the Montgomery Humane Society, 1150 John Overton Drive, Montgomery AL 36110.
