A Selma native returned home to discuss her book on Nursing.

Amber Black, a 2014 graduate of Selma High School, held a book signing this week at the Selma-Dallas County Public Library on her book, “12 Leaps of Faith to Become a Travel Nurse.”

Black graduated from Troy University and worked as a travel nurse for over three years. She is currently a travel nurse in Oakland, California.

“I got a lot of questions every week on how to get started,” Black said. “It dawned on me that I should write a book.”

While attending Selma High, Black was in dual enrollment at Wallace Community College-Selma and worked at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham before getting the hob in Oakland.

The book is available on amazon.com, $8.99 (E-book) and $12.99 (paperback).
