Anne, born July 10, 1933, entered the arms of Jesus on July 27, 2022 at age 89.

Anne was born in Arlington, but she spent most of her young years in Selma, AL where she graduated from Albert G. Parrish High School with the Class of 1951.

In 1952, Anne married her high school sweetheart, Maurice Leon Brown, Sr., who preceded her in death. Also, preceding her, in death, were three of their five sons; Maurice Leon Brown, Jr., James Brett Brown and Vernon Tipton Brown; her parents, Jennings B. and Flora Gates Peeke; her sister Myrtle P. Romito, and brother, Jennings B. Peeke, Jr.

Anne is survived by her sons, Judson Wade and Kenan Glenn Brown; grandchildren, Shannon (David) King, Amanda (Jesse) Drew, Lee Jon Brown, Eddie (Beth) Blount, and Maury (Starlet) Brown; great-grandchildren, Seth and Micah Brown; Jordan Drew, Christopher Brown and Shelby Blount.

She is also survived by her sister, Eleanor P. Derryberry and sister in-law, Gladys W. Peeke and numerous nieces and nephews.

In honor of Anne’s wishes, she was buried with her parents and brother in the Peeke Family Plot at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma.
