The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the death of a four-year-old child who died after falling off a utility trailer on Friday night in Dallas County.

According to ALEA Sgt. Jeremy Burkett,  the four-year-old fell from the utility trailer t being towed by a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Gabriel Turner, 20, of Hayneville.

The incident happened about 9:15 p.m. on Alabama 22, five miles west of Selma. The child was pronounced dead on the scene. Juveniles are not identified because of state law.

Burkett said that no further details regarding the accident are available as it remains under investigation by ALEA.
