A host of dignitaries, including Greg Canfield, Secretary of Commerce for the State of Alabama, will be on hand Thursday at 10 a.m. at Craig Field for an economic development announcement by the Selma & Dallas County Economic Development Authority in partnership with the Craig Field Airport & Industrial Authority and the State of Alabama. 

While details of the announcement remain confidential, the project is expected to be significant for Dallas County, the region, and the state. 

Speakers at the event other than Canfield will include EDA Executive Director Wayne Vardaman, Craig Field Executive Director Jim Corrigan, Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn, Selma Mayor James Perkins, Jr., and representatives from the company being announced. 

The general public is invited and encouraged to attend the event, which will be held at the Craig Field Airport, hanger 255. Directions to the hanger are: From U.S. Highway 80, enter the main gate to Craig Field. (Watch for directional signage once you enter the Craig complex.) Turn left at the 4-way stop, and then turn right onto the first road to the right. Follow the road toward the golf course and turn right into the gate. Ushers will guide you to park.
