A Valley Grande man was killed Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash.

According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Jimmie J. Phillips, 30, was fatally injured when the 2006 Honda Civic he drove left the roadway and struck a tree.

The crash occurred on Alabama 22 near the 36 mile marker, approximately 10 miles east of Selma, in Dallas County around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Phillips was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further details are available as Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the accident.
