The Selma City Schools are looking for a new Superintendent with the departure of Dr. Avis Williams to New Orleans.

Williams was named Superintendent of New Orleans Public Schools on Wednesday.

Although we enjoyed a strong working relationship with Williams for five years, and will miss her professionalism, but we’re not upset she took another job.

Williams earned and deserved the right to move on. At some point in our lives, we’re faced with that decision.  Some of us stay in the comfortable environment. Some of us move on.
