A Marion Junction family is showing support for Ukraine victims.

Laura Spencer of Simply Making It is introducing “Soap for Hope” to provide immediate aid and recovery, food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support, and cash assistance — prioritizing women and girls, families, and the elderly in Ukraine.

“It’s a terrible situation seeing what those families in Ukraine are going through,” Spencer said.

Bars of soap are made in gold and blue, Ukraine colors with butterfly kisses. They are made on the Spencer Farm, where Spencer lives with her husband, Chip and their children, Mac and Veigh Kaye.

Ingredients are made from: goat milk, shea butter, olive oil, coconut oil, lye, EO and FO blend, skin safe colorants. Scented with a refreshing blend of Basil, Sage and Mint.

At press time, Spencer said $1,500 has been donated and will be sent to CARE’s Ukraine Crisis Fund.

Spencer said she’s received 230 orders.  One hundred percent of the profits go to Ukraine.”

“It’s been incredible,” Spence said. “A lot of people in Selma have big hearts. I will continue making and taking orders as long as needed.”
