LIFT Ministries and Snow’s Cleaning Service worked together creatively donating to inmates at the Dallas County Jail.

LaTanglia Williams of LIFT Ministries and LeMarkus A. Snow of Snow’s Cleaning Service donated collected 200 bars of soap, 100 pairs of socks, a DVD player, 10 cases of hand sanitizer, 10 boxes of latex gloves, a flat screen tv, and a year supply of popcorn.

Williams said the TV and popcorn were Snow’s idea for the inmates to have a movie night.

Snow thanked the Dallas County Commission, Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum and Dallas County Warden for approving their donations.

The Dallas County Commission- Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn, Commissioners Curtis Williams, Jan Justice, Vivian Rogers, Connell Towns, Granthum all attended the event.

Snow said it was important donating to the inmates, especially that he served time years ago.

“It feels so great to give back to a place that was my residence but a learned lesson,” Snow said. “My freedom is more important than a life of crime.

“I was once a inmate housed at the Dallas county jail. I know first hand the stress, rejection, and misery inmates face so any love and recreation means a lot. Gives inmates a sense of love when they see someone doing more than they have to for them.”

Snow said donations came from Walmart, Gospel Tabernale Church Pastor John E. Grayson, former Selma City Councilwoman Susan Youngblood, Mark Myles, Amy Collins Carmichael and Tomika Rayford.

“This was so special to see so many come together to make the inmates feel loved,” Snow said.

Snow said another donation to the Dallas County inmates will be held next month. He said donations are accepted and appreciated.

Granthum praised both Williams and Snow for always volunteering their services to help the inmates.

“I’m hoping a movie night will help rehabilitate the inmates,” Granthum said. “We can’t bring people in to visit  them because of COVID.”
