Selma man killed in one-vehicle crash

A Selma man was killed in a one-vehicle accident  over the weekend.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports that Reese A. Peterson, 45, died from injuries from an accident suffered Saturday on Alabama Highway 219.

The ALEA report says that Peterson’s SUV overturned and struck a utility pole on Highway 219, two miles of Selma. The 2021 Toyota 4Runner Peterson drove left the roadway and struck a mailbox before overturned and struck a utility pole.

Peterson, 45, was taken to Baptist Medical Center South and eventually died from the crash.

No further details are available as Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the accident.

Ashley’s JH Williams & Sons Funeral Home are handling the funeral arrangements for Reese.

The obit will appear this week in The Selma Times-Journal.
