Interior Secretary Deb Haaland visited Selma, met Perkins and Sewell

Interior Secretary Deb Haaland visited the city of Selma on last week.

Haaland toured the Selma Interpretive Center with U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell  (AL-07), Selma Mayor James Perkins Jr., Assistant Secretary Estenoz, They all met they met with community leaders and Foot Soldiers who marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge on Bloody Sunday, leading to the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

“It was my distinct honor to welcome my dear friend, Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, to Alabama,” Rep. Sewell said. “During Black History Month, we are reminded of the importance of preserving our history.
