Teenager arrested in Selma murder

A teenager was arrested in Selma’s first murder of the year.
According to Dallas Country District Attorney Michael Jackson, a 14-year-old juvenile has been charged with the murder of Charles Steele, 56.
Jackson said the incident took place on January 5 between the corner of Broad Street and Third Avenue and Steele was shot in the head during a robbery.
Because the suspect is a minor, his identity can’t be revealed, but Jackson said the District Attorney’s Office.
They filed a petition to certify the 14-year-old as an adult. A hearing will be held soon at which point a judge will consider the age and maturity of the minor, as well as the seriousness of the charge. The Judge will decide after the hearing.
