LIFT Ministries, and Snow’s Cleaning Service teamed up in donating gifts to inmates at the Dallas County Jail.

Books, hygiene, toiletry items and undergarments were given to detainees at the Dallas County Jail.

Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum, Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn, and Dallas County Commissioners Curtis Williams and Vivian Rogers all appeared at the gathering with Williams and Snow.

Grathum said he appreciates Williams and LeMarkus Snow both for always assisting the Dallas County Jail and the community.

Williams thanked the Dallas County Commission, Granthum, former Selma City Councilwoman Susan Youngblood, Janet Hand, Cyndi Ferrell for their help with donations.

“It’s easy to get inspired with a cause you truly care about—and it’s rewarding to see your direct impact. Helping my community especially the detainees at the Dallas County Jail,” Williams said. “It is an opportunity for me to grow as a person, to better understand how I fit into the world around me. I have gained a unique sense of purpose by serving others.

“Volunteering to serve incarcerated men and women and advocating with elected officials is such meaningful service. And it is work that Scripture clearly calls us to do. I’m amazed how it opens your eyes to things that matter. It gives you real “God moments.”

Snow said he always enjoy volunteering in the community.

“Makes me feel great to stand in the room with The Dallas County Commision, The Sheriff, and Lift Ministries especially in support of inmates,” Snow said.

“And it kind of touches home because 20 years ago I was that inmate in the Dallas County Jail alone and scriped of my rights and stuck in the system but today I’m proud to give back to inmates.”
