“I am thankful for Dr. Williams’ leadership and her commitment to keeping our scholars, families, and all  of Team Selma connected and engaged using innovative communication strategies,” Washington said.

“Efforts such as Talk SUPT, Class  Notes, and our Chat and Chew sessions with parents and stakeholders, help to further our mission and  vision while shining a light on the amazing activities taking place throughout the school district.”

Since the 2015-16 school year, NSPRA has recognized 102 school district leaders as Superintendents to  Watch.

Honorees must have fewer than five years of experience as a superintendent and must demonstrate dynamic, fast-paced leadership with strong communication at its core.

In a statement, NSPRA  Executive Director Barbara M. Hunter said it’s an honor to recognize outstanding school officials.

“Strong communication at the district level continues to be more important than ever in keeping school  families, employees, students and community stakeholders well-informed and engaged,” . Hunter said.

“We’re proud to recognize this year’s recipients, who are  committed to championing innovative communication efforts as an integral part of their district’s  success.”

Williams has received countless national awards she became SCS Superintendent nearly five years ago.
