Two Dallas County schools are ranked in the ASWA Basketball poll this week.

Southside boys (12-6) are ranked 10th in Class 3A. The Panthers are coached by Kelvin Lett.

The Lady Senators (8-6) are ranked 10th in the AISA girls poll.

Southside players are: Chris Thomas, Tae Spears, Derick Smith, Marquarius Reese, BJ Moorer, Javarious Gunn, Erick Smith, Amir Muhammad, Damarion Davis and Stacee Rudolph.

Morgan Academy girls players are: Madge Minter, Margaret McLaughlin, Leanna Johnson, Ally Spivey, Keenan Lee McHugh,  McCann Perkins, Mackenzie King, Taylor Roberts, Bailey Brown,  Molly Bohannon and Sarah Thomas.

“This group of girls have grown up together and have played together for a long time,” first-year Lady Senators coach Lebo Jones said. “They work really hard everyday to try to improve. Just proud of the way we are playing this year.”
