Cynthia Marie Kane passed away October 9, 2021 at the age of 76. Mrs. Kane was born on February 14, 1945 to the late Clarence Westbrook and Mona Lou Westbrook Holliman.
Mrs. Kane was a hardworking and gentle soul, always giving of her heart and time. She loved playing the piano and organ for her church, volunteering as a Pink Lady at the hospital, taking friends to appointments, and sitting with those in times of need.
She had a green thumb for gardening and enjoyed cooking, especially her chicken pot pie with biscuits on top and her double crust blackberry cobbler. She also enjoyed cutting grass and could be seen driving through town towing her riding lawn mower. Driving was in her nature, and she could drive just about anything, a tractor, a backhoe, a forklift, and even race cars in her youth.
She had her own business cutting hair and worked at International Paper for over 15 years. After retirement, she very much enjoyed serving as a member of the Rotary Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Vance Kane and her sisters, Sandra Harrison and Sylvia McLaughlin.
She is survived by her children, Dana Goad Crawford, Heather Marie Bruner, and Stanley Dean Bruner, and by her previous husbands, Douglas Goad and Thad Bruner.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 in the chapel of the Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at New Live Oak Cemetery. The service will be live streamed online, via the funeral home’s Facebook page, http://WatchLawrence.Live.
