Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. will celebrate the 150th anniversary of its dedication on Sunday.

Mass will begin at 10 a.m. for one of the oldest chuches in Dallas County.

Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi , Archbishop for the Diocese of Mobile and Father David Cray, Superior General of the Edmundites will both attend the event.

Former pastor Father Richard Mihaylik will be the homilist for the service.

The church has a rich history in the Queen City.  The  theme of the Mass is Celebrating Our Diversity.

According to Parish Council President Beth Wilson, the celebration is a year late due to COVID restrictions last year.

The Queen of Peace Summerfield will host a reception after Mass. Masks are required and social distance rules are intact.

The historic church was constructed with stones from the Confederate Arsenal that was housed during the Civil War.
