Chad McEachern, Economic Development Authority Executive Director Wayne Vardaman, Retired Army Brig. Gen., and First Cahaba Bank Director Van Carter were among the Selma and Dallas County residents who attended the event.

Steward said the Coastal region provided his company an opportunity.

“This community welcomed us with open arms and we’ve continued to provide the same level of professionalism and attention to detail that built our reputation in Selma and across the Southeast,” Steward said

. “We’re happy to be here and I’m proud to say our customers are happy to have us. We look forward to opening new offices in other locations in the future.”

Steward is a Selma native  and Steward Construction was founded in Selma 36 years ago. He said Selma played a big role in expanding. He owns countless properties in the Queen City.

“Selma is my hometown and will always be our home base. I never planned to expand to this area but our success back in Selma allowed to us to respond to needs present in this market.

“I’ll always be thankful to our friends and partners in the Blackbelt who made us ready as an organization to expand to this area and we look forward to serving our customers in Selma and Gulf Coast Region for years to come. This newest bloom may be on the coast, but our roots are in Selma.”
