The Dallas County Sheriff Office and Selma Police Department are investigating multiple break-ins taken place over the last several days in Selma and Dallas County.

Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum said that Mr. Roy’s, Vasser’s Mini-Mart, NAPA Auto Parts and SEARS were all broken into during the past week. Granthum

Kourtney Hatcher, 30, and Antonio Bennett were both arrested in connection to the break-in at Mr. Roy’s, Granthum said.

Hatcher was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary and family offense endangerment welfare. She was arrested Tuesday by the DCSO at the 102 block of Church Street. Her bond was set at $36,000 and remains in the Dallas County Jail.

Bennett was arrested Monday by the SPD on the block of 1826 Highland Avenue. He was charged with three counts of third-degree burglary. His bond is $45,000 and he remains in the Dallas County Jail.

Granthum said that Hatcher’s family offense endangerment welfare charge came from abandoning her child at home.

“She left a three-year-old child at home,” Granthum said.

Granthum said the two DCSO suspects may be connected to the break-ins at SEARS, Vasser’s and NAPA. He also said that other suspects may be involved with the break-ins.

Granthum credited the SPD for their help with the break-ins.

“Good things happen when you work together,” Granthum said.
