Dallas County Career and Technical Education Center earns national recognition

The Dallas County Career and Technical Education Center received national recognition last month.

The Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE), Career and Technical Education Section and the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) awarded the Welding and Industrial Maintenance: Electrical programs at the Dallas County Career and Technical Education Center with the distinguished programs “Certificate of Accreditation.”

The two programs completed the standards during the 2020-21 school year and will retain accreditation for the next three years.

The two programs are also chartered with SkillsUSA, a national career and technical education student organization that serves over 395,000 high school, college and middle school students and professional members enrolled in training programs in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.

The SkillsUSA chapter at Dallas County Career and Technical Education Center received the “Quality Chapter Award” for the successful completion of the chapter excellence program.
