Meadowview Christian School fights off rain to hold graduation

Meadowview Christian School overcame a heavy rainstorm to hold its graduation ceremony for the second straight year.
Twenty MCS seniors received their diplomas on Friday night in the mud at Wasden Field to finish high school.
Class Valedictorian George Smoke Jr. spoke to the Class of 2022, providing advice and wisdom. He finished with a 3.8 GPA.
Jackson Barnes Jr. said it’s an honor finishing as the Class Salutatorian. He will attend the University of Alabama. A week earlier, he received a scholarship from the Selma Quarterback Club.
“With all of the medical injuries I’ve had and to finish second in the Class, It shows all of my hard work,” Barnes said. “I’m looking forward to attending the University of Alabama. I’ve been wanting to attend Alabama since I was seven years old.”
