A Dallas County man was denied parole by the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles this week.

Rayford Phillips was denied parole for multiple third-degree burglary charges he committed between 1998 and 2007.

Phillips was charged with second-degree burglary in August, 1998. Phillips was 19 years old at the time and brought to the Selma Police station by his father.

In 2001, Phillips was found in the Valley Creek Area with a .38 special pistol and several pieces of jewelry. He was charged with third-degree burglary.

In October 2005, Phillips was charged with three counts of first-degree burglary and three counts of third-degree burglary in Valley Grande. He was released from state prison on Oct. 22 that year, but the case got eventually re-tried.

Phillips was charged with third-degree burglary in 2007. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison. He is currently incarcerated in the Limestone Correctional Center.
