Selma man dies from gunshot wound

A Selma man died Monday night from gunshot wounds.

Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford said Travaris Woods, 36, died from a gunshot wound on Monday night at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

“Around 8 p.m. Monday night, Selma police officers responded to the 1300 block of Tremont Street in reference to a gunshot victim,” Fulford said. “Upon arrival, officers discovered Travaris Woods having difficulty breathing. He was transported to VRMC where he later died from his injuries.”

Fulford said there are no suspects at this time and the murder remains under investigation by the SPD.

This is the eighth murder in Selma and Dallas County, with seven being homicides
