Gospel Tabernacle and SonLight Outreach Center held a surprise Food Drive giveaway on Mother’s Day weekend at Bloch Park.

Countless vehicles filled the parking lot of Bloch Park to receive a box containing frozen chicken, vegetable, fruits and milk.

Gospel Tabernacle Pastor John E. Grayson said they received an extra truck load of food Friday night and it was a way to honor mothers in Selma and Dallas County on Mother’s Day.

“The Bible in several scriptures admonish us to honor our mother and father,” said Dr. CeCe Grayson, Pastor Grayson’s wife. “Mothers carry the shoulders for troubled children to rest upon. Mothers are the gateway for hope for many generations because they’re created to nurture bridge the gap and stitch together a broken heart.”
