A Selma man is charged with felony murder from a death that happened in October.
Mardreikus Miles, 23, has been charged with felony murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied building, according to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson. Miles was arrested Thursday morning around 4:10 a.m. on a Grand Jury Capias. He’s in the Dallas County Jail on a $1 million bond.
A capias is an arrest warrant that orders the police to arrest a defendant and bring them to court if not in custody or has not been released on bond.
Jackson said Miles is a co-defendant to the murder that killed Shajuan Rhodes on Oct. 16. Chauncey Smith, 22, was arrested and charged with capital murder and discharging a firearm in an occupied vehicle at the 2000 block of Bienville Street.
Rhodes’ vehicle was shot into multiple times by Smith. Rhodes was struck in the upper left torso and died from his injury after chasing his vehicle at the 1600 block of Summerfield Road.
