Dallas County participated in World Health Day on Wednesday.

Women Mission Union, members of Northside Baptist Church, the ladies of ESA and West Central Baptist Association spent the day visiting various health organizations throughout Selma and Dallas County.

Vaughan Regional Medical Center, Southern Care Beacon, Selma Urgent Care, Park Place Nursing Home Kindred, Amedisys Home Health Care, Selma Health Rehab, Cedar Hill Lighthouse Nursing Home, Homestead Hospice, Mainstreet Urgent Care were among the health facilities the groups visited.

Kathy Smith of Northside Baptist Church said the goal is to pray every few minutes for health care workers. Smith added that they gave out 1,000 gift bags to local health care workers.

“It is all about sharing God’s love,” Smith said. “We pray for them daily to have patience, wisdom and knowledge for their patients. Most of all, we want them to know our Lord and Savior, so they can share the love of Jesus to their patients.”
