A Selma woman was involved in a two-vehicle crash that killed a Wetumpka teenager in Lowndes County on Easter weekend.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports that a 16-year-old teenager from Wetumpka was a passenger in a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Cassandra Hill, 50, of Wetumpka. Hill attempted to cross U.S. Highway 80 and collided with a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Deborah Brown, 48, of Selma.

The teen was transported to a local area hospital for treatment but succumbed to injuries and was pronounced dead at the facility. ALEA did not reveal the teenager’s identity.

The crash occurred on U.S. 80 at the 119-mile marker, approximately 13 miles north of Hayneville in Lowndes County at 8:53 p.m.

No further details are available as Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the accident.
