The Selma Area Food Bank held a food giveaway Thursday morning.
As gray clouds pumped through an overcast sky with a heavy breeze., Northside Baptist Church, Summerfield Baptist Church and Team Rubicon were among the volunteers handing out food boxes to Selma and Dallas County residents.
Pepsi Cola, Harvest Select Catfish, Foster Farms and Tyson Chicken were among the organizations that donated food.
“Having these volunteers out means a lot and we’ve been blessed to give food out,” SAFB Executive Director Jeff Harrison said. “The Selma Area Food Bank’s job is giving out food to the community.”
Northside Baptist Church member Kathy Smith said other church members contributed in the food giveaway.
