Registration for Dallas County Baseball and Softball Leagues began this week.

The league is for boys between the ages of 6 and 12 and girls between the ages of 6-18, according to Dallas County Athletic Director Richard Davis. A valid birth certificate or official record of birth is required at registration.

Registration and playing in the league are both free. Registration will end on March 31.

Baseball and softball registration will be held at two different locations.

During the week, people can sign up in Room 107 at the Dallas County Annex Building from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Davis said if anyone is unavailable to sign up during regular hours, players can also register at the Dallas County Sportsplex on March 18 and March 25 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Hats and jerseys will be provided free to the players. Davis said parents are responsible for gloves, pants and cleats to play in.

A meeting for anyone wanting to coach will be held February 25, March 9, and March 16 at 6 p.m. in the Dallas County Sportsplex.

Davis said the 2021 season is scheduled to start in either April or May and will conclude in June or July.

“The actual start and finish dates are still being worked out and more information will be given out as soon as possible,” Davis said.
