Seniq’s Variety Café holds toy giveaway for Salem Elementary Students
Seniq Smith held her annual toy giveaway for her students at Salem Elementary School a week before Christmas.
Smith held the giveaway at her restaurant, Seniq’s Variety Safe. Bicycles, boots, tennis shoes, dolls, I-pads and remote control trucks were among the gifts given to the students under a bright sun and brisk wind. Parents were also given $25 for gas.
For Smith, this is her 20th year giving gifts to her students. Smith, a teacher at Salem Elementary School, said it’s something she loves doing.
“This is my joy,” Smith said. “I teach for the kids. It just feels right giving back to the students and community.”
Smith opened the restaurant on Aug. 3, 2019. She also held an on-site training ground for the youth.
