Selma suspect arraigned for capital murder

A Selma suspect was arraigned on capital murder charges in the Dallas County Courthouse.

According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, Selma resident Roderick Shontell Harrison was given a no bond by Dallas County Circuit Court Judge Collins A. Pettaway Jr. Harrison remains in the Dallas County Jail.

Harrison, 41, is being charged for the murders of two African-American men: Wendell Pullom, 24 and Johnny Bonner III, 28, on the morning of Nov. 27 at the 1300 block of Ceola L. Miller Avenue, located near in the Police Jurisdiction.

On Dec. 3, Harrison turned himself in to the Selma Police Department. His bond hearing was held a few days later.

Jackson said Harrison’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 18 at 1 p.m. in the Dallas County Courthouse.
