A Tuscaloosa man died in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Bibb County.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Tuscaloosa’s Michael Austin Rasco Jr., 35, was killed when the 2004 Honda Accord he was driving collided head-on with a 2014 GMC Savana driven by Bao Feng Gao, 57, of Bessemer. The location of the crash was at Alabama Hwy. 5 near the 102-mile marker.

Austin, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Austin’s passenger, a 2-year-old female, was injured and transported to Children’s Hospital of Alabama.

Nothing further is available as troopers of ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the accident.
