Gospel Tabernacle Church of God in Christ held a food giveaway and teamed with Rural Health Medical Program for Drive-through COVID-19 testing in its parking lot Tuesday.
The free food giveaway and coronavirus testing lasted four hours as part of Gospel Tabernacle’s Stay safe for the holidays platform. Participants were given one box of food and a kit to get tested for coronavirus.
Dr. Meneka Johnson Nicholson of Rural Health said the free 400 tests were provided by UAB Dr. Anthony Lee to help the organization serve their five Counties: Dallas, Perry, Monroe, Marengo and Wilcox.
“It’s an opportunity to serve the community,” Nicholson said. “The COVID-19 numbers in the state are rising.”
Gospel Tabernacle Pastor John E. Grayson said it’s all about serving the community of Selma and Dallas County.
