The Selma Police Department is investigating an African-American man being struck and killed by a vehicle on Monday night.

Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford said the SPD responded to an accident at the 700 block of Highland Avenue.

“Upon arrival, officers discovered a 30-year-old black male laying inside the west bound lane,” Fulford said. “The vehicle that struck the subject prior to officer’s arrival. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.”

Fulford did not reveal the victim’s identity and the case is still under investigation.
