Southside becomes the fourth Dallas County school to make the state football playoffs.
The Panthers (6-4) will play top seed Slocomb in first-round action next Friday night.
According to Southside coach Charles Moody, the Panthers earned a postseason berth with a forfeit victory over Dallas County on Thursday. The contest was scheduled for Martin Stadium in Plantersville.
“It feels amazing, especially with all the adversity we have dealt with this season and being able to overcome all of that and accomplish this goal.’’ Moody said.
Selma, Morgan Academy and Keith also made the state playoffs and will play next week.
