The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals affirmed the murder sentence of a Wilcox County resident last week.
According to Fourth Judicial District Attorney Michael Jackson, Sylvester Elliot’s 60-year sentence for murder at a Wilcox County club was affirmed by the Alabama Court of Appeals on Oct. 8.
Elliott, 27, is charged for shooting and killing Clifford Bonner on Sept. 3, 2017 in Wilcox County. He was found guilty of murder Wednesday by a Wilcox County Jury on Sept. 18, 2019. Circuit Court Judge Collins A. Pettaway sentenced Sylvester Elliot on Jan. 26, weeks after a pre-sentence investigation and report.
“We are glad this gunslinger will off the streets a long time,” Jackson said. “I am glad he packed a big suitcase.”
