Glendia Ann Cole, the seventh child of William Hunter, Sr., who preceded her in death, and Lue Ellen Hunter was born February 25, 1959 in Selma.

Glendia accepted Christ at an early age and joined Bethlehem Baptist Church. Later, she moved her membership to Mt. Olive # 2 Missionary Baptist Church, and proudly served in several capacities including Deaconess, Matron and church decorator.

Glendia was educated in the Selma City School System and was a proud member of the Selma High School Class of 1977. She was hired at Selma High School as the registrar in the early 1980s and worked there until her retirement in 2009. Glendia believed that education was the key to success.  She was an advocate for education, and showed her commitment to many students as she supported them in achieving their goals of achieving higher education.

On July 15, 1977, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Derrick L. Cole. To this union two children were born, Chasity Cole Green (Robert) and Courtney Cole. Glendia received her heavenly wings and departed this life on Tuesday, October 6, 2020  peacefully at her home in Marion Junction, AL. She was preceded in death by her father, William Hunter, Sr., two sisters, Annie and Mary Hunter, a brother, Clifford Hunter, her father-in-law, Ben Cole and mother-in-law, Marion Cole. Mrs. Cole leaves to cherish her precious memory, her husband, Derrick L. Cole of Selma,: her mother, Lue Ellen Hunter of Selma,: her daughters, Chasity Cole Green (Robert) and Courtney Cole of Selma,: five grandchildren Robert, II., Emma-Grace, Jacobi, Jace, and Jaxon of Selma, AL; three sisters, Pearl Holmes, Deloris Holmes (Freddie), and Darlene McGuire, all of Selma,: three brothers, William Hunter, Jr. (Patricia) of Marion  Donn Hunter (Gretchen) of Dallas and Charles Hunter (Tina) Dallas, : a sister-in-law Patricia Tolbert: a goddaughter Monica Gayle (Ronald) and a godson Martravious Stallworth, both of Selma, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Graveside services have been planned for Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 11 a.m. from the Mt. Olive #2 Missionary Baptist Churchyard Cemetery with the Reverend Anthony Shears, officiating.  The body will lie in state the day of the graveside service from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary of Mt. Olive #2 Missionary Baptist Church with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service.
