Officials from Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Facility (HMMA) stopped by the Selma City Schools (SCS) Central Office Tuesday afternoon to supply the school district with 6,000 face masks to fight the spread of COVID-19 in the Selma community.
HMMA donated 5,000 disposable masks and 1,000 reusable fabric facemasks to SCS to be distributed amongst the district’s administrators, teachers, other staff members and 2,500 students across nine schools, grades K-12.
The mask donation to SCS is just HMMA’s latest effort to provide relief to communities amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier this year, HMMA donated 20,000 reusable face masks and 400 face shields to the Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), as well as 5,000 disposable masks to Montgomery Public Schools.
Additionally, HMMA donated 450 box lunches to Montgomery area front line health care providers, 1,000 surgical masks to the Alabama Dental Association and 10,000 COVID-19 tests to Montgomery and surrounding counties to support drive through testing in Alabama.
