International Paper Foundation taking Application grants

The International Paper’s Riverdale Mill is now accepting applications for 2020 International Paper Foundation grants.

The deadline to complete an online application at www.ipgiving.com is Oct. 12 at 5 p.m.

“Only grants submitted through this process will be considered for funding,” IP communications manager Arthur McLean said.

McLean said applicants will be led through an online eligibility quiz. Next, they will be asked to log in and register their organization. Registration is a one-time event, in which the International Paper Foundation determines if your organization’s tax status meets its guidelines.

Applicants must have their federal tax ID number or, if your organization is a public school, your NCES District ID and School ID available. You will not need an “invitation code” in order to apply. If you are asked for an invitation code, you should omit this field and continue with the application process.

Almost $89,000 in grants were awarded to schools and non-profits in the community last year.

“International Paper continues to be a force for good in our communities,” McLean said. “We mobilize our people, products and resources to address critical needs in the communities where our employees live and work.”

Funding priority is given to programs related to IP Signature Causes:

Education – Programs focused on helping children succeed via a comprehensive approach to education. Priority is given to literacy programs from birth through 3rd grade.

Hunger – Programs dedicated to improving food security throughout our communities.

Health and Wellness – Programs that promote healthy living habits.

Disaster Relief – Programs that help communities prepare for and recover from natural disasters.

Funding also is available to address environmental initiatives, employee engagement and other critical community needs.
