Get Fit Selma to talk rural healthcare in weekend webinar

Get Fit Selma is partnering with a variety of area health officials and organizations to host a webinar Saturday to discuss the challenges faced by rural health care in the midst of a pandemic and answer questions on ow people can protect themselves and others.

Among those taking part in the webinar are Vaughan Regional Medical Center (VRMC) CEO David McCormack and Justine Maxwell of the Tennessee Department of Health.

Support for the event is being provided by the Aplastic Anemia and MDS Foundation, with sponsorship by Sarrell Dental and Eye and DentaQuest Corporation.

McCormack has made his name among healthcare providers in Selma and Dallas County as an advocate for access to healthcare and has been the CEO of Vaughan Regional Medical Center since 2016.

Maxwell is from Selma and is an epidemiologist by training and serves as an Informatician with the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) Office of Informatics and Analytics.
