Virginia Laurelle Moore Stoudenmire, age 80, of Thomasville, passed away August 20, 2020. She was born November 11, 1939 in Lawley. She worked many years as a Registered Nurse serving Selma, Thomasville and Grove Hill Hospitals.
Laurelle served two years as a missionary in Guatemala with the International Mission Board as well as an IMB trustee. She was co-founder of Missionary Parents Fellowship. She served her church and community as a bible study teacher, President of the Hospital Auxiliary and President of the Worthwhile Club of Thomasville. She also served as WMU Director for the Clarke County Association, two years as Vice-president of Alabama WMU and two years as President of Alabama WMU. She was preceded in death by her parents, Huey and Appie Moore; granddaughter, Bekah Kaye Anderson and siblings, Edward Moore, LV Moore, Ellis Moore, Vadus Moore and Mary Eula Krout.
Surviving are her husband, Allen D. Stoudenmire; children, Jackie (Roy) Hill, Jimmy (Anita) Stoudenmire, Judy (Steve) Anderson and Jeffrey (Gage) Stoudenmire; fourteen grandchildren one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 5 p.m. at Thomasville Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. A graveside will be in Pineview Memory Gardens at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2020 with Rev. Roy Hill officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
