Affectionately known as BD, Bradley D. Capps died in Destin, Florida August 8, 2020, at the home of his caregiver and daughter, Camille Capps.  Born July 23, 1927, in Ware County Georgia to Sara Jane Gastor and Violace Dexter, he moved to Selma after a tour of duty in the Navy and marriage to Ann Owen.  He was the last survivor of nine children.

BD ran the Gulf service station next to Capps Trailer Park when he came to Selma.  He made many friends from Craig Field when they stopped for gas.  Upon the opening of Wallace Trade School, the forerunner to Wallace Community College,  he was the Automotive Mechanic instructor.  Afterward he adjusted freight for the Southern Railway.  He purchased and ran Selma Bail Bond after the death of Martin Coon.  His Shop at 2706 Jeff Davis hosted many a Wednesday night cookout. 

His wife of 69 years, Ann Owen preceded him in death.  Survivors include his son Bradley D. Capps, Jr (Stella) and daughter Candi C. Duncan (Arthur) of Selma and daughter Camille Capps of Destin, Florida.  Grand children include:  Tammy (Patrick) White, Wendy Moore, Morgan and Lane Duncan. Great grandchildren are McLean, Clint and Blain White.  Survivors also include a host of nieces and nephews and his sister in law Dorothy W. Capps. His friend and caregiver Andres Armijo attended to his special needs, including his need to go places as often as possible. His ever- faithful dog, Floyd was by his side when he passed.
