Strong running for Selma City School Board President

Jeff Strong believes he can improve the Selma City School system.

Strong is running for Selma City School Board President.  Johnny Moss III is the incumbent school board president. The city municipal election will be held Aug. 25.

A 1983 graduate of Selma High School, Strong built a campaign theme around his last name: Stronger change, stronger education and stronger future.

“My vision for the children in Selma City School system is to connect the schools and community, prevent another takeover of our schools, create safer schools,” Strong said.

“I want to help our children get full time teachers, engage parents as partners, create student success by providing an advance curriculum, request support from businesses to help improve our schools, lower the dropout rate, cultivating pride for Selma by having the best school in the state of Alabama.”

Strong has an impressive resume that includes a military background. He graduated from UAB’s School of Nuclear Medicine. In the U.S. Army, Green served as a Sergeant non-commission officer whose list of accomplishments include serving as President and CEO of Radiology Technical services diagnostic imaging nationwide, Good Group Co-Owner and partnership in the Good Samaritan Medical Center Group.
