The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and Central Alabama Crimestoppers are investigating the Tuesday evening robbery of a Dollar General Store in Valley Grande.
Around 5:50 p.m. Tuesday at the block of 4200 Alabama Highway on Highway 22, an unknown black man wearing a white hat, black and white checkered shirt, and dark pants handed the clerk of Dollar General a note demanding that she give him money.
The clerk, realized it was a robbery, calmly opened the register and gave the offender an unspecified amount of cash. The suspect left immediately after receiving the currency.
Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum said the suspect left on foot and it was not known whether he got into a vehicle. Granthum also said that people were in the store shopping.
“Thank Goodness there was nobody hurt,” Granthum said.
Granthum said anyone with information regarding the robbery, call either DCSO at 334-874-2530 or CrimeStoppers’s 24-hour tip line at 215-STOP (7867) or download its P3-tips app.
