Mariah Davis grateful for Selma-Blackbelt Tuskegee Alumni Club Scholarship

Former Selma High softball player Mariah Davis she was honored to receive the Selma-Blackbelt Tuskegee Alumni Club scholarship last year.

Davis finished her freshman year at Tuskegee University and is a Mechanical Engineering major.

“I appreciate Selma Black-Belt’s/Tuskegee Alumni Group,” Davis said. “Tuskegee is, very much worth it, but expensive, so every dime is greatly appreciated. I feel blessed to even be considered for such. God always provides for me and for that I’m grateful.”

Davis was a member of The Selma Times-Journal All Dallas County softball team last year.

The SBTAC is an affiliate of the larger Tuskegee National Alumni Association Inc. and was established three years ago.

The 2020 SBTAC Scholarship application period is now open to promising students that will attend  Tuskegee University during the 2020-2021 academic year.

Graduating high school students are encouraged to apply now through June 30, 2020 by  3 p.m. /

Here is the eligibility criteria:

1. Reside in the SBTAC service area — Alabama Blackbelt Region;

2. Hold a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

3. Have an official acceptance or enrollment letter to Tuskegee University.

4. Submit a typed short answer response(s) to the application questionnaire.
